Xenical can reduce the body's absorption of certain fat-soluble vitamins. In order to ensure adequate nutrition, your doctor may recommend taking a multi-vitamin that contains vitamins D, E, K and beta-carotene. Vitamin additions should be taken once a day, at least 2 hours before or after a dose of Xenical. While you are taking Xenical, your meals should contain no more than about 30% of calories from fat. Evenly divide your daily intake of fat, carbohydrates and protein over three main meals per day. Consult with your doctor about a healthy diet plan.

Warnings / Precautions
You may need a dose adjustment or special monitoring during treatment or you may not be able to take Xenical at all if you have or have had a chronic malabsorption syndrome, or gallbladder problems, kidney stones, have diabetes, have anorexia or bulimia, take other weight-loss medication or take cyclosporine. This medicine is in the FDA pregnancy category B. This means that animal reproduction studies have not demonstrated a fatal risk but there are no controlled studies in pregnant women or animal reproduction studies have shown a negative effect (other than a decrease in fertility) not confirmed in controlled studies in women during the first trimester (and there is no evidence of a risk in later trimester). Possible side effects
